Company ProfileWe are design generalists applying a diverse spectrum of technologies, with design responsibilities ranging from sub-system to board to complete systems. Our broad experience with electronic and adjunct technologies (sensing and transducer technologies, optics, disposable plastics, EMI, etc.) is enabling in both optimizing multi-discipline systems and in providing vertically integrated engineering services. Our product planning experience enables us to work interactively with many clients to optimize product definitions for cost effectiveness, performance, and features. On small to moderate size projects we provide the engineering skills to take a design from the gleam in marketing's eye all the way to the demonstration of a working system to investors, customers, or trade show. We can also deliver small production runs of new devices. On larger projects, we can assume responsibility for sub-systems which must coordinate and integrate with other system elements. We do this by applying trans-discipline problem solving, looking at the Big Picture, and exorcizing the devils from the details of implementation. We typically work independently, using our laboratory facilities, test equipment, and computing resources, but also work on site as a members of a client's engineering team. We make extensive use of the Internet for communication and project status updates to minimize geographical inefficiencies. Most projects have some relationship to the medical device industry. Most projects have one or more embedded microprocessors. We normally bill by the hour, but also undertake fixed price work where desired. Fixed price projects usually begin with an hourly billed phase in which objective specifications, project milestones, and terms of the fixed price project are fully defined for inclusion as part of the fixed price work agreement. We invoice bi-weekly on hourly work unless other arrangements are made. We execute reasonable non-disclosure and non-compete agreements which do not diminish our ability to earn a living. We will assign full intellectual property rights developed in association with a project to the client in exchange for a negotiated patent assignment bonus.
